Neko's Spriting School
Have you ever wondered how the sprites in many hand-held games are made? Have you ever wanted to make your own, but don't quite know how? Or maybe you do know how, but you want a place to show them off or get criticism to improve your skills? Perhaps you just want to help others learn how to sprite!
If any of the above apply to you, then Neko's Spriting School is for you! NSS is a forum dedicated to spriters of all experience levels to come together to share their work and help each other along the way. Newer spriters are welcome to come by and read tutorials that are written by fellow, more experienced spriters, while older spriters are free to show off what they've got!
This forum features an entire area to promote improvement for spriters. A livestream video player is embedded into part of the forum where anyone is welcome to watch the process of various sprites being made. There is a board made for tutorials that members are free to contribute to! Lastly, the gallery is a place you may post your sprites if you are seeking constructive criticism on your work.
For those artists out there who are already quite skilled, we've got contests, awards, and challenges for them to participate in! Every month, there will be a sprite chosen by the members to be proclaimed Sprite of the Month. That sprite will be displayed for the entire site to see!
For everyone who doesn't sprite, the forum contains a Sprite Shop board where spriters may take requests from other members as well as guests to help get some practice. Guests are encouraged to come by and make requests!
Of course, while the forum is oriented towards spriters, there are areas in the forum for other art forms such as drawing, painting, writing, etc. as well as places to discuss various types of media out there that many may draw inspiration for.
So please, feel free to drop by and join our little community. Everyone is welcome, spriter or not! The forum is still quite new, but with your help, we'll be able to grow into a thriving community!
